Music. A universal language found anywhere in the world. There are different music genres, like EDM, Rock, Jazz, Pop, Country, and Blues. But have you ever wondered, "Why did the artist create this", "What inspired the artist to write this song", or "What is the artist trying to say?". Today we will look at 20 songs and their lyrics, and identify what the artist is trying to say.
(*Note: Some of the meanings may be wrong, and only the artist knows the song thoroughly. This is based on some people and my opinion.)

1. Heartless, by The Weeknd

Chorus
Why? 'Cause I'm heartless
And I'm back to my ways 'cause I'm heartless
All this money and this pain got me heartless
Low life for life 'cause I'm heartless
Said I'm heartless
Tryna be a better man, but I'm heartless
Never be a weddin' plan for the heartless
Low life for life 'cause I'm heartless

The chorus talks about himself, asking why he keeps on changing his attitude, or personality. Someone told him he's heartless, which is why he kept repeating it throughout the chorus. Every time he tries to change, his heart gets broken into pieces.

Second Stanza & Chorus
I've been a victim of a selfish kinda love
It's time that I realize
There are some with no home
Not a nickel to loan
Could it be really me pretending that they're not alone

In this verse, Michael Jackson talks about people without homes, or in poverty. He calls out some people who ignore them, including himself. He realizes that some of those people are alone, and have no one to help them.

I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change.

He talks about himself, asking to change his perspection in life and to others. He refers to himself as "the man in the mirror", realizing the need to change to create peace and equality to all people. He strongly implies the message, Change starts in yourself.
